What Must You do After MM2H Approval – Landing Procedure
Within 6 months from the date of your MM2H conditional approval, you and your family need to plan a trip to Malaysia for a minimum of 3 working days to complete the MM2H landing procedure.
Before coming to Malaysia
Entry Visa will be couriered to you together with a copy of the approval to apply in Malaysia Embassy/Consulates nearest to you, to stamp onto the passports. Please ensure your passport stamp with written the MM2H Ref No BVP/SHP/14021….) within the validity of the Entry Visa of 3 months from the date of issue. There are certain countries will be exempted from this procedure, please check with us. If you and family come into Malaysia thru Entry Visa, there will be a saving of Journey Performed Visa (JPV) of RM 520 approx. per passport.
The MM2H landing procedures involve 3 things to be done as stated in your MM2H conditional approval:
1. Medical Check Up
2. Purchase of Medical Insurance
3. Present the Fixed Deposit Certificates according to your MM2H category (either RM 150,000 or RM 300,000). For a pensioner, your MM2H conditional approval comes with without the need for Fixed Deposit placement.
After the above completed, your passports will be brought to Malaysia Immigration Department for endorsement of MM2H Visa.
What must you do after approval – The need for a medical checkup
You are advised to do the regular medical check-up to stay healthy in Malaysia. Most hospitals offer healthcare screening services. For MM2H visa endorsement purposes, we will do the medical check-up as required by the Immigration Department of Malaysia to fulfil the requirement under the MM2H program.
What must you do after MM2H approval -Purchase of medical insurance
There are many types of insurance policies available in Malaysia that you can choose. The more comprehensive ones come with investment and a life component. However, for the MM2H program, a basic medical insurance plan is sufficient. For those who are overweight which exceed the normal scale of the insurance company, you may be required to pay extra for the insurance premium. If you have international medical policies that over Malaysia, we may apply for a waiver.
The medical insurance guideline for a basic plan is as follows:
Aged below 50:
Couple (age: husband 45, wife 35) – RM 610
Family (age: father 48, mother 40, daughter 10, son 15) -RM 975
Aged above 50:
Couple (age: husband 55, wife 50) -RM 653
For those aged above 60, medical insurance is not required with a Reject Letter obtain from the Insurance company.
What must you do after MM2H approval- MM2H Fixed Deposit Placement
We will assist you in the opening of bank account upon your arrival in Malaysia. Special arrangement can be done if you require opening bank account prior to your arrival in Malaysia. Once your transfer of fund available in your account, the Fixed Deposit certificates will be issued accordingly by the banker. Currently, bank interest for Fixed Deposit placement is about 3.5% to 4%per annum.
MM2H Visa Fees Payable to Malaysia Immigration Department
The visa fee payable to Malaysia Immigration Department for the MM2H sticker will be RM 90 per passport per year with additional of Multiple Entry fee range from RM 20 to 30 per year (varies according to nationalities). Visa fee will be charged according to your passport’s validity period.
The MM2H visa period for all dependents will be according to the validity of the main applicant’s passport. The additional payment of Journey Performed Visa (JPV) of RM 520-550 per passport payable to Malaysia Immigration Department for those who need to convert tourist/work/student visa into MM2H visa and for those who did not come in thru Entry Visa process.
The landing procedure for the whole process stated above often complete within 3 working days. However, there may slightly delay if the Immigration Department Malaysia’s computer system face glitches due to upgrading and/or make changes.
